16″ 150# AOGV Facilitates Gasket Replacement on North Sea Platform

Overview

The patented AOGV mechanical isolation system installs a barrier between a flange pair on a pressurized system whilst in continuous operation. Unlike alternative isolation technologies, the AOGV allows our customers to safely isolate process segments for inspection, maintenance, or repair without a cashflow shutdown!

 

Izomax was selected to perform isolation on a ballast water nozzle for urgent preventive flange gasket replacement. The ballast water is crucial to the stability of the structure but was polluted with H2S and Hydrocarbons, so the operator was unable to drain the tank to replace the flange gaskets. Utilising the AOGV mechanical isolation system, the gasket replacement was performed safely and off the operational critical path.
