Meet us at the Banff Pipeline Workshop 2025

Posted on: April 4th, 2025 by Ane Andersen

Izomax is pleased to announce our participation in the Banff Pipeline Workshop 2025, taking place from April 7 to 10 in Banff, Alberta. This event brings together pipeline industry professionals to discuss advancements in pipeline integrity, safety, and risk management.

Representing Izomax at the workshop will be Tarryl Hektner, our Business Development & Client Manager in Canada. Izomax will be sharing a stand with Red Flame at the event. Tarryl will be available to discuss how our AOGV mechanical isolation system enables safe and efficient pipeline maintenance without the need for process shutdowns.

The AOGV is a patented mechanical isolation tool that provides positive isolation while maintaining system integrity. By allowing maintenance to occur without stopping production, it helps operators avoid the risks associated with shutdown delays and unplanned outages.

If you are attending the Banff Pipeline Workshop 2025, we invite you to connect with Tarryl at Floor 3, Exhibition Room 306, Booth 59. Reach out in advance to schedule a meeting or visit us during the event.

Izomax acquires IK Engineering and IK Group US Inc.

Posted on: March 31st, 2025 by sven

Izomax has announced the acquisition of IK Engineering (Poland) and IK Group US.Inc, in a strategic move to grow our global presence and expand delivery of our patented AOGV technology.

The expansion will increase our company headcount with 32 new employees in Poland and 7 more across the Americas, significantly enhancing our engineering capabilities and capacity to meet rising global demand.

The acquisition supports our international growth strategy and reinforces our position as a frontrunner in pressurised system solutions for the oil and gas and wider process industries. It also allows us to further strengthen our engineering capabilities and expand into new markets.

“Izomax has an outstanding track record in successful isolations for global operators using the AOGV, and we are happy to see increased global demand for our technology. Welcoming IK Engineering and IK Group US will increase our ability to establish our groundbreaking technology as a proactive maintenance standard that reduces risk, increases operational uptime, and maximises revenue,” said Izomax Vice President, Rune Sele.

The move comes amid strong growth forecasts in key markets. In the Americas, the downstream line-stopping sector is expected to grow by 10% over the next five years, with the upstream repair and maintenance market projected to grow by 15% year-on-year.

IK Engineering, based in Gdansk, Poland, has extensive industry experience in the energy sector, enabling them to proactively assist with and respond to RFQ’s, design solutions and tooling, and complete project overviews including procurement, assembly, and delivery. This means we now have the capacity to deliver our technology solutions on a larger scale and within shorter timeframes.

Sele added: “As we move forward, we are excited about the future and the opportunities ahead. By leveraging Izomax’s groundbreaking AOGV technology and extending its global reach, we are confident in the company’s continued growth and success”.

Izomax has pioneered the Add-On Gate Valve (AOGV) technology, allowing repairs and maintenance in operating plants and installations without the need for shutdowns, hot work, or unplanned downtime. AOGV can be used for valve and component replacements, tie-ins, and module decommissioning without downtime of operating installations.

Meet us at LNGCON 2025

Posted on: February 26th, 2025 by sven

Izomax is set to attend LNGCON 2025 in Amsterdam from March 10 -12, where the team will connect with industry leaders to discuss innovations in pipeline isolation and maintenance

Representing Izomax at the event will be Rune Sele, VP, and Lynne Lyon, Sales Manager UK.

As part of our participation, Izomax is proud to be the Session Sponsor for the 10 AM panel discussion on Day 2 (11th March). Lynne Lyon will take the stage to present on the AOGV mechanical isolation system and its role in enabling safe and efficient pipeline maintenance without the need for process shutdowns. This session will explore how operators can improve maintenance flexibility, reduce downtime, and enhance safety in critical operations.

The AOGV is a patented mechanical isolation tool that provides positive isolation while maintaining system integrity. By allowing maintenance to take place without stopping production, it helps operators avoid the risks associated with shutdown delays and unplanned outages. The system installs a barrier between a flange pair on a live process line, offering a safer and more efficient alternative to traditional isolation methods.

If you are attending LNGCON 2025, we invite you to connect with Rune and Lynne to learn more about how Izomax can support your operations. Reach out in advance to schedule a meeting or visit us during the event.

Employee Spotlight – Paul MacFarlane

Posted on: March 5th, 2024 by Amanda Eden

Over the past decade, the APAC region has undeniably become a key player in the global energy market. As we gear up for the exciting AOG Energy event in Perth next week, we’re thrilled to kick off our Employee Spotlight series. Today, we invite you to join us for an insightful conversation with Paul MacFarlane, the driving force behind Izomax’s Business Development in Australia, Eastern, and Southeast Asia. If you’re attending the AOG Energy this year, be sure to connect with Paul to discover how our AOGV is revolutionising the APAC Region. He’ll be delighted to meet you.

Tell us about yourself, and please give us a rundown of your career path up to this point.

My career has centred around Oil & Gas, from the installation phase of Woodside’s North Rankin A platform in the early 80s and subsequently through the growth phases to the dynamic and exciting industry it is today. My experience covers MMO upstream and downstream, together with offshore subsea construction specialities. What a great career it’s been – and it is amazing that now, with Izomax, it’s more exciting than ever.

Can you share some insights into your role as a business development manager for the APAC region, and what specific challenges and opportunities do you encounter in this dynamic market?

With Izomax presenting game-changing technology to clients who need breakthrough solutions, the Business Development challenge is quite unique. Some clients have recognised the benefits of the AOGV earlier than others, and they are powering ahead with projects that solve real problems and deliver very significant savings. Other companies need not only a technical introduction to the AOGV but also the range of important benefits it can provide. Making the impossible now possible is shaking the foundations of shutdown planning and delivering terrific solutions for operators.

Can you highlight any projects in the APAC region that you have been involved in, and how have these experiences contributed to the growth of Izomax in the area?

One of our Australian LNG Clients has moved quickly from tentative trial solutions to now being our 2nd biggest client globally. Their CPF offshore in the Timor Sea and, now, their Darwin LNG base are solving plant problems that once were unsolvable except during extended plant shutdowns.

In the context of sustainability and environmental considerations, how does Izomax contribute to responsible practices in the oil and gas industry, particularly in the APAC region?

The AOGV tool allows intervention at any flange pair, and as such, isolating pressurised spools or equipment immediately adjacent absolutely minimises the release, treatment, or disposal of hydrocarbon or chemical inventory. There is a huge saving in dollars – but more importantly, it’s a huge environmental benefit.

In your perspective, what are the current trends and future prospects for the oil and gas industry in Australia, East and Southeast Asia, and how is Izomax positioned to capitalise on these trends?

No matter which way you view natural gas—as a base load generator or as a transition fuel—there will be operating oil and gas plants for a very long time. The maintenance and support of these plants will be even more critical in the future, and this is where the AOGV can best be applied.

How do you navigate and adapt to the diverse regulatory environments across Australia, East, and Southeast Asia in your role, ensuring compliance and successful business operations?

Izomax works within the operating auspices of its Client organisations – so in essence, we help them comply with ever-changing legislative criteria. Because the AOGV tool can deliver benefits not on offer previously, we can help our clients meet ever-tougher operating and fiscal challenges.
