Facing the heat: AOGV under study at 450°C

In recent weeks, Project Manager Stephanie Craig and Senior Engineer Jostein Egeland traveled to Qatar to support a study for a global supermajor, focusing on operations within the region.

The purpose of the study is to assess whether an AOGV operation is feasible on a super-heated steam system running at 450°C and 65 bar. To establish a solid technical baseline, the team spent a full day on site conducting 3D scanning, temperature checks, and a range of additional measurements at the target location.

Work continued the following day in Doha, where meetings with the customer covered operational parameters and included a HAZID review. These discussions form an important part of evaluating the potential for safe, temporary isolation under such extreme conditions.

We look back at a productive visit as we move into the next phase of the study with a solid foundation.
