Izomax Paints the Oil & Gas Industry Pink

Posted on: October 16th, 2025 by Ane Andersen

The fight against breast cancer deserves attention all year round – not just in October.

For years, Izomax has supported the Pink Ribbon campaign through annual donations. This year, we wanted to take that commitment a step further and make our support visible every single day.

One of our AOGV tools has been coated in pink and named Thyra – a name rooted in Old Norse and derived from Thor, often associated with strength. From now on, every time Thyra is deployed for a project, Izomax will donate NOK 10,000 to the Pink Ribbon campaign, both in our name and the client’s.

The Pink Ribbon campaign is a fantastic initiative, but the fight against breast cancer deserves attention all year round – especially in the male-dominated oil industry, where the topic has traditionally had little visibility,” says Rune Sele, VP at Izomax. “Pink doesn’t exist in our industry, and Thyra serves as a powerful reminder of that fight every day of the year. The idea came from our employees and is driven by genuine engagement and passion.

Camilla Gram, Regional Leader at the Norwegian Breast Cancer Association Rogaland, adds:
“It’s truly wonderful to hear about companies that get involved in the Pink Ribbon campaign and take the initiative to raise money themselves. The funds from this year’s campaign go to life-saving breast cancer research, helping more people survive and enjoy the best possible quality of life after treatment.
The Pink Ribbon is a global symbol of support for the fight against breast cancer. In Norway, the campaign is run by the Norwegian Cancer Society and the Norwegian Breast Cancer Association, and has become an enduring emblem of hope and unity worldwide.

How Izomax became a trusted name in mechanical isolation for the world’s largest oil & gas companies

Posted on: October 7th, 2025 by Ane Andersen

In May this year, Izomax announced the award of a new, multi-country MSA with one of the world’s largest energy companies. Spanning 5 continents and 13 countries, this award attracted attention from our owners and strategic stakeholders. It also got us thinking about how a technology that started as an idea and a five-person department in 2017 has grown and changed so much.

There’s no doubt that the Izomax Add-On Gate Valve (AOGV) technology has a unique value proposition; allowing repairs and maintenance in operating plants and installations without the need for shutdowns, hot work, or unplanned downtime. An AOGV can be used for valve and component replacements, tie-ins, and module decommissioning without downtime while process and plant remains online and live.

All well and good – but how has a small technology company grown to service more than half of the world’s largest Energy companies?

Source: Statista, “The Biggest Oil and Gas Companies in the World,” published August 6, 2025. Available at Statista.

Rune Sele, VP for Izomax has a sneak insight. He believes that there is a myriad of ground-breaking technologies throughout the energy space, competing for attention and growth. Whilst some flourish and grow, others just don’t make the cut. Rune credits Izomax’s success to what he calls the three C’s: Capability (the technology does what it says on the box), Confidence (customers understand and believe the technology is the best choice for a given application) and Capacity (having the resources and commitment to deliver and execute).

Easy to say perhaps, but a daily challenge to live up to. Rune further explains “The Izomax engineering team is laser focused on continuous improvement and technology generational change. We cannot afford to stand still, especially as client expectations grow after every successful AOGV application. “We are like a small Formula 1 team, managing design and tool upgrades, but with one eye on our next generation”. Anne Bergsagel, Operations Director adds that maintaining customer confidence isn’t as easy as turning up with the tools and people. “AOGV isolations typically occur in challenging environments, with temperature, piping media, and application specific issues. Our customers are integral to planning for success, often witnessing tool assembly and function testing as well as approving our engineered approach to each project. We are only as good as our last job – so every project is critical to us and to our clients”.

As the Izomax team continues with our increasing customer base on the march towards no shutdowns or unnecessary outages, we will keep you updated on our progress. Head to the Projects and Case Studies section on our website to learn more about our latest capabilities.

A Global September for Izomax

Posted on: October 1st, 2025 by Ane Andersen

One month. Six countries. One revolutionary technology.

September didn’t leave much room for standing still. From training programmes and technology showcases to industry conferences across four continents, the Izomax team has been busy bringing the AOGV to operators, partners, and clients worldwide.

Here’s a look back at where we’ve been:

Aberdeen, United Kingdom

We kicked off the month at Offshore Europe, teaming up with SLB for a two-day Open Day at their Portlethen facility. UK Sales Manager Lynne Lyon and AOGV inventor Kjetil Aamodt welcomed visitors to see the tool up close, ask questions, and explore how mechanical isolation can transform maintenance planning.

Dammam, Saudi Arabia

From there, it was straight to the Middle East. In collaboration with IKS, Lynne represented Izomax alongside Business Developer Morten Sirevåg at Static Arabia – the region’s largest static equipment engineering and maintenance expo.

Buenos Aires, Argentina

Further west, Senior Engineer Sebastian Charaf showcased the AOGV at AOG 2025 before attending a Norwegian business delegation event hosted by NORWEP and the Norwegian Embassy.

Houston, United States

Across the Atlantic, Technician Tor Marius brought the AOGV Training Program overseas for the first time, delivering hands-on sessions with US colleagues and clients.

Thailand

September also saw the mobilisation of a brand-new AOGV – a 04-inch 1500 – for our very first job in Thailand with a global supermajor.

Singapore

And to round off, AU Sales Manager Alex Follington joined Valve World Southeast Asia in Singapore with SLB. The highlight: a live demo of the AOGV in action, followed by a speaker session on day two of the conference.

It’s been a busy start to the season, and the pace won’t slow down any time soon.

A Global June for Izomax

Posted on: July 4th, 2025 by Ane Andersen

June was a truly global month for Izomax, with teams on the ground at three major industry events across Canada, the United Arab Emirates, and the United States. From Toronto to Abu Dhabi and Houston, we’ve been proud to showcase how the AOGV enables safe, shutdown-free mechanical isolation in complex live systems — and to connect with professionals across the energy and process industries.

PetroChem Canada – Toronto, Canada

Tarryl Hektner represented Izomax at PetroChem Canada in Toronto, where she teamed up with Red Flame Industries to meet with professionals from the downstream and petrochemical sectors. The event provided a great platform to share how the AOGV supports safe isolations during live maintenance and helps reduce risk without disrupting production.

AIMCS EXPO 2025 – Abu Dhabi, UAE

Svein Tore Milwertz and Morten Sirevåg attended AIMCS EXPO 2025 in Abu Dhabi, joining colleagues from IK Group, Norclamp, and Trax. The event focused on asset integrity, maintenance, and safety — a strong fit for demonstrating how AOGV technology eliminates the need for shutdowns or hot work during mechanical isolation work.

Downstream USA – Houston, USA

Our U.S. team — Vinnie Carvalho, Cameron B., and Matthew Fabre, together with Rune Sele from HQ — took part in Downstream USA in Houston. With a focus on the future of maintenance and operations, the event allowed us to demonstrate how AOGV enables live, compliant work on pressurized systems — with no shutdowns and no hot work required.

Looking Ahead

Thank you to everyone who visited our booths, joined conversations, or helped make these events possible. We’re already looking ahead to what’s next on the calendar — and continuing to share how AOGV is helping operators redefine the (im)possible around the world.
