This January, Izomax mobilised for a threaded spade installation under conditions that quickly proved to be more demanding than initially expected.
Once preparations began on site, the full extent of the challenge became clear. The line to be isolated carried a 90% hydrogen medium at 450°C, and just above the flange location, a major crack in the pipe was discovered. The finding significantly increased the complexity of the operation and required an immediate reassessment.
Compounding the technical challenge were tight project constraints. The timeline from project award to execution was less than one month. This was a new client, the first operation in a new country, with no prior survey completed, and only a five-day window on site available for execution. With these factors combined, the margin for error was effectively zero.

As conditions changed, the plans had to change with them. Working closely with the client, the Izomax team adapted to the condition on site and developed a revised solution under time pressure, with safety and execution remaining the top priorities throughout.
Despite the demanding conditions, the operation was completed successfully and within the required timeframe.
This is just one of many successful operations delivered by the Izomax team. Explore our Projects and Case Studies to see how the AOGV has been applied across different systems and conditions worldwide.
