October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, but for Thyra, the Pink Ribbon message travels all year round.
Last year, Izomax gave one of our AOGVs a new look and a new purpose. Painted pink and named Thyra, an Old Norse name associated with strength, she was created to carry the Pink Ribbon message into an industry where pink is rarely seen.
More than a coat of pink
For years, Izomax has supported the Pink Ribbon campaign through annual donations. With Thyra, we wanted to make that support visible beyond October and take the message with us wherever in the world the AOGV is deployed.
The idea originated with our employees and was driven by a desire to give an important cause greater visibility within the oil and gas industry. Wherever Thyra goes, the pink AOGV creates an opportunity to start a conversation about breast cancer awareness and the work represented by the Pink Ribbon.
And that visibility is tied to a contribution. Each time Thyra is mobilised for a project, Izomax makes a donation to the Pink Ribbon campaign on behalf of both Izomax and the client.

It means every project gives Thyra another opportunity to carry the message into a new facility, project team or part of the world – keeping the cause visible throughout the year.
Carrying the Pink Ribbon message forward
The Pink Ribbon is a global symbol of support for the fight against breast cancer. In Norway, the Rosa Sløyfe campaign is run by Kreftforeningen and Brystkreftforeningen, raising funds for breast cancer research and awareness.
A big thank you to Rosa Sløyfe, Kreftforeningen and Brystkreftforeningen for the important work you do. We’re proud to stand behind the cause and help carry its message across our industry.
For any questions about Thyra, our pink AOGV, please contact our Brand Manager at ane.andersen@izomax.com. If you’d like to support the cause yourself, you can also donate directly to Rosa Sløyfe or follow our donations here.
